Artistic Residencies for Artists and Musicians
Production of Multidisciplinary Site-Specific Landscape Performance
The production entails a multidisciplinary site-specific landscape inspired by the European classic Don Quixote, employing a cross-disciplinary approach involving music, circus, performing arts, light design, and ephemeral stages. The process begins with the creation of a new composition for the specific theme, establishing a connection with orchestra performance featuring clown elements.
Artistic residencies for the performing part will occur in Sevilla (Spain), and the final phase of the process will be linked to the orchestra academy. The performance will premiere in Guarda (Portugal), a candidate city for the European Capital of Culture 2027. The premiere will be followed by a tour that includes the cities of two Sounds of Change partners: Sevilla (Noletia, Spain) and Koblenz (International Music Festival Koblenz, Germany).
Production of Small-Scale Opera Performance
Sounds of Change’s primary challenge lies in creating a new operatic work, for which a librettist, a total of 20 jumpstart artists, and 120 emerging musicians active in the fields of opera and ballet are encouraged to apply through open calls, scheduled to be published according to the project’s timeline.
Artistic residencies for the performing part will take place in Novi Sad (Serbia), and the final phase of the process will be connected to the last orchestra academy. The new opera piece will be presented for the closing performance of the Sounds of Change project in Nova Gorica (Slovenia), the European Capital of Culture 2025.
